The Yorkshire Terrier is the newest of the three York Brewery pubs, having opened in the winter of 2004. Situated on historic Stonegate, hidden behind our very own York Brewery Gift Shop, this little gem of an often overlooked pub lurks right at the beating heart of old York and is a fantastic place to rest weary feet, and refresh parched throats, after (or during!) a heavy day's shopping. This award winning conversion comprises of the main downstairs bar area consisting of three open plan areas including a fantastic conservatory area, and situated upstairs is a permanent non-smoking room allowing diners and drinkers alike to enjoy a smoke free environment. So come on down and visit our very own Geordie Jan and her friendly team, share in a drink and no doubt a bit of a laugh.

Food
Serving homemade food 12p.m.-4p.m. every day, our chef Martin cooks up a storm producing good quality traditional pub grub at affordable prices. Martin's steak and ale pies have gained quite a following, so get there early to avoid disappointment. Other examples from the menu include: a range of Baguettes, Beef Lasagne, and Sausage and Mash. Prices range from £4.45 to £5.95. Keep an eye out for occasional themed evenings featuring food and drinks deals!
Beer
At the Yorkshire Terrier we monitor our stock and cellar conditions very closely to ensure your pint reaches you in tip top condition. Having nine hand pulled real ales allows us to keep the four permanent York Brewery Beers (Yorkshire Terrier, Stonewall, Guzzler and Centurion's Ghost) on at all times, as well as the latest York Brewery guest ale. In addition to all that we are able to carry four guest beers at any one time, selected from around the country, and hand pull ciders during the summer months. In addition to our cask ale we have a number of draught products including Carling, Grolsch, Hoegaarden, Stowford Press Cider, Guiness, and Bernard light & dark premium Czech lager. We also have a range of bottled Belgian beers on offer including Chimay, Duvel and Liefmans.
Quiz Night at The Terrier
Every Thursday at the Terrier is quiz night! Come and join Jan and her team for a quiztastic quiz, a damn good laugh, and a chance to win a gallon of ale. Four rounds of ten questions each await those who dare with subjects changing each week. There is an entry fee of 50p per person, but we do provide a little something for you to nibble on at half time (and no it's not oranges!).
York Brewery Gift Shop
Situated on the street in front of the bar area, our gift shop stocks a wide range of York Brewery merchandise such as polo shirts, glasses and bar towels. The shop stocks a full range of bottled beers including our own bottled products (Yorkshire Terrier, Stonewall, Brideshead, Minster Ale and Centurion's Ghost) available as single bottles or as part of a three or four bottle gift pack.
